No game night for you!

Welp, for the second time in a row we've had a last minute cancelation of game night. Oatie had an important family issue come up and so it's a no-go. Her mom's back in the hospital and it only happend just this morning so she had me inform everyone else. I figure she must be running around like a chicken with its head cut off. The only person I don't have phone contact info for is wooman. I sincerely hope that she dosen't show up and think we ditched her. Brrrr. That would be bad. There are some undercurrents of bad blood swishing around lately in chicago it seems and it's hard to tell how much of it is true and how much is just momentary irritation or somesuch. It'll be hard to tell until we find a time to all get together and hash a few things out I guess and that's becoming almost impossible to organize.

Oh well. It's kinda sad really. I had everything all packed up and ready to go. I discovered that the card cases I bought fit pretty much perfectly into that iomega zipdrive satchel I'd been using to carry around counters and dice and crud. I can only fit 5 into there with everything else but it would make for a very nice carrying cases if I just wanted to bring one or two card games with me somewhere. I put most everything else into that commemorative starwars backpack I got at gencon. I was quite pissy about getting that instead of the board game I wanted at the time but I'm starting to come around. I've never seem a backpack with so many features and compartments. It looks like it would be very useful in the future as a general swag bag at conventions or as an overnight bag.

Feh. I was really looking forward to getting the chance to test out a few of the new games. Oh well, at least I don't have a hugely long time to wait. I will be going to the boardgame meetup on tuesday and josh/frig expressed an interest and kitty might be joining us there after her audition. What I really need to do is find a group of people to board/card game with on a regular basis outside of the various groups of friends I have right now. Once the summer ends, John/Richard/Melissa/Otis/Butch/Luigi and I will be starting up the bimonthly sessions again at john's place for AD&D, but it shouldn't be hard to find time for a regular game group like I had with tucker and his friends here at the U of C a while back.
