The next civil rights crusade

Alrighty, I promise, this is the last salon article I'm going to bitch about...at least for a few days anyway. I don't think I can take any more of this ridiculous crap. The following is a blurb from an article here.

Whether they call themselves a-, non- or anti-sexual (or even "amoebas"), a growing number of people, like Julie, consider their indifference toward sex not a problem, not a pathology, but rather, like gay or bi, an "orientation" of its own -- complete with coming-out stories, slogans, online communities, an ad hoc manifesto, merchandise and no small amount of pride. The micro-movement, with an unofficial online headquarters at the Asexuality Visibility and Education Network (AVEN), has gained both visibility and adherents since last fall, when an article published in the Journal of Sex Research reexamined existing British data to find that 1 percent of people report never having felt any sexual attraction.

WTF? Slogans, a manifesto, and merchandise? What the hell is wrong with these people? I don't fucking care if someone is a-, non-, or anti-sexual but I'm sick to fucking death of these damn labels, these damn groups, and I'm ecspecially sick of how some of them want to shove their preferences (or lack thereof in this case) in the faces of others. Christ, how long will it be till we see a non-sexual pride parade marching through the center of town? Just live your own damn life of non-sexual bliss. I don't want to hear about it.
