Captain Kirk to sell valuable gem on Ebay

Boldly passing what no other man has passed before

Friday 18 November 2005, 06:48

THE ACTOR who played Captain Kirk on the popular telly show Star Trek, William Shatner, has just passed a kidney stone and plans to flog it on eBay.

The actor says that the stone will become the “ultimate piece of Star Trek memorabilia” and he will flog it for charity.

The 74-year-old actor was taken from the set Boston Legal last month, suffering from what was initially reported to be chronic back pain, which turned out to be a kidney stone.

Captain Kirk has apparently been filling in as a lawyer between his dutys saving the universe thus proving the idea that good must entirely be balanced by evil.

But Shatner has since revealed he had a kidney stone, which he successfully passed after experiencing excruciating pain.

However, he might have a bit of problem making the sale through eBay. The outfit has strict rules about the sale of body parts, even for charity.

So I guess this would be the ultimate star trek pet rock. It's nice how these stories always seem to run in groups. First there was the 'it's a good day to die' klingon guy yesterday and now shatner's selling his waste. I can't wait till he kicks the bucket. We can probaly buy dessicated lots of his corpse just like the ferengi on the show.

Update:

Shatner kidney stone goes for $25,000
GoldenPalace.com is buyer; money to charity

LOS ANGELES, California (AP) -- An online casino has a piece of Capt. Kirk.

Actor William Shatner has sold his kidney stone for $25,000, with the money going to a housing charity, it was announced Tuesday.

Shatner reached agreement Monday to sell the stone to GoldenPalace.com.

GoldenPalace.com originally offered $15,000 for the stone but Shatner turned it down, noting that his "Star Trek" tunics have commanded more than $100,000. His counteroffer was accepted.

Man...it's one thing to sell your bodily waste but then to counter-offer when someone ponies up 15k....that's balls. I think Shatner should start selling his daily stools. Just think, if a uniform goes for 100k and a kidney stone goes for 20k, he could probaly sell his shit for a minimum of a thou a poop.

T minus 56 hours

Feh. Still writing up summary notecards for all of the things I need to memorize for that test on saturday. It's going to be pretty sucktastic. It's even worse that scheduled starting tommorrow night is a local gaming convention and I have some events to run there. As long as I can get the notecards finished before things start up tommorrow night, I figure I can just carry the cards with me and review as I go. It's not like there's a huge amount of time left anyway. How much information can you cram into the human cerebral cortex in just a few days?

Eh. Fuck this. I'm going to bed.
