Sick and tired of being sick and tired

Nothing new going on recently. The battle over the cold has hit a stalemate. It dosen't seem to be going anywhere and I haven't exactly tried to force it to leave with any remedies. I thought about scalding the hell out of it with some soup but decided it just wasn't worth the effort. As long as it isn't making a huge nuisance of itself, I'm willing to declair a truce of sorts.

I'm not sure if it's because of the fall out from dexcon or if it's the cold but I've always felt quite a bit more run down than normal. I have this tendancy to just lie down and then fall asleep for the next 6 hours or something after I've had a full night's rest. Luckily, it's not like there's much going on at the moment. Just the same old thing which means my schedule is pretty darn flexible. I'll have to decide if I want to trek out to kidsvile tommorrow and try to get a KB demo in or if I just want to bail. Bailing only puts off the inevitable though. I have to do at least one demo there every four weeks and it's been 2 weeks since the last one. The worst part is even just going there isn't a guarentee I can wrangle enough kids together to give it a go. Feh.

I really really need to find a better game store somewhere.

I tracked one down to the north that's pretty much the same distance away (20ish miles) as the one I'm going to in the south. The problem is their game day is basically the 2nd and 4th saturdays of the month, which runs headlong into a clash with the Bills at Panera. If only they were running on some other schedule I would have trekked up there already since I'm sure just about anything would be better than that MTG playing kindergarten I'm stuck in. Why aren't there any highschool age gamers in that blasted town?

On the positive side, I should have more than enough carrot points through playroom to be at agent level red. Depending on if my meetup demos are counted as store or convention demos, I could have anywhere from 14 to 16 points.

(blue)ONE CARROT (received upon approval of Agent Status)

· Bunny Patrol Agency Demo Kit, Official Bunny Patrol Agent I.D. card, and Pre-release availability on Killer Bunnies products.

· Bunny Patrol Agent Button and other cool Killer Bunnies perks and paraphernalia (ie Stickers, Posters).

· Special Agent Pricing (50% off retail - limit 1 per product per calendar year) on Killer Bunnies and the Quest for the Magic Carrot games only.

· Bunny Patrol Agent T-shirt.

· Special Agent Pricing (limit 1 per product per calendar year) on selected Killer Bunnies products.

I'm closing in on purple which is pretty nice. I should reach that before the end of the year for sure though the next step will take a herculean sort of effort to finish in the same time frame. Even with the three conventions coming up I would have to complete something like 10 points worth of demos at each in order to make the next level of (orange) which requires 50.

All of this is pretty much a moot point though. I mean, I haven't even received my demo kit yet. God knows when that will finally come in and I can start passing out promotional materials. I'm also thinking that I should give them plenty of notice for prize support for those conventions too. With this sort of shipping delay, I'm not sure I'd get what I need before I end up needing it. I also haven't received word one about getting the steel booster as a pre-release and that's supposedly one of the benefits of the first level. It's not that big a deal I guess, since I can always pick it up at gencon but it'd be nice to know I could have gotten it if I were jonesing for it.

Still, getting to level orange before the year ends would be fabulous. That step gives me a 50% discount on any one playroom entertainment product per calender year. If I can clear 50 before the year ends, I can use that immediately to pick up something nice. Hopefully by then they'll have had time to release a few more games since I pretty much bought their entire line at origins. If nothing else I guess I could always pick up more KB t-shirts and the like. Always nice.

I just got another email today from someone I demo'ed to who wants to buy the game and wanted more info. From this perspective, playroom is making a good chunk of money off my agent demo'ing. So far, *counts on fingers* 3 people have bought the game for sure because of my demos and another 5 said they would or tried to at dexcon only to find it was sold out. Assuming all of these people will get all the expansions, that's not exactly a small bit of change. It's too bad bunny ambassadors don't get diplomatic immunity.
