Bodies of fetuses, newborns clog Harare's sewers

HARARE, Zimbabwe (AP) -- The corpses of at least 20 newborn babies and fetuses are found each week in the sewers of Zimbabwe's capital, some having been flushed down toilets, Harare city authorities said, according to state media Friday.

Town Clerk Nomutsa Chideya said the babies' remains were found among a wide variety of waste and garbage cleared by city council workers unblocking sewers and drains in Harare.

"Apart from upsetting the normal flow of waste, it is not right from a moral standpoint. Some of the things that are happening now are shocking," the state Herald, a government mouthpiece, reported Chideya as saying.

What is with these blasted savages? Everyone knows that if you're going to chuck a fetus, you should use the garbage disposal. This allows it to be chunked into a manageable size. Or, if feel that you must flush your baby down the toilet, at least make sure you crush the oversized skull with a mallet or something so that it fits. To do otherwise is just grossly irresponsible since we all know it'll just back up the plumping for the entire street as it jams in there. At least when we murder fetuses in this country, we know how to dispose of them properly. Go NARAL!

On a sidenote, Dick Cheney is one badass MF. Who else can shoot someone in the face and then have the victim apologise to him upon getting out of the hospital?

Whittington, wearing a suit and tie, appeared with several bruises on his face and neck. His discharge from the hospital came earlier than expected.

"My family and I are deeply sorry for all that Vice President Cheney and his family have had to go through this week," Whittington said.

Cheney's a God. We should keep him in office for another term and set him loose on capital hill and see who he shoots next. Maybe give him a nudge toward Ted Kennedy's office.
