The wheels of justice churn on

After the indictments two of the duke lacrosse players were arrested this morning and it looks like we're going to have one hell of a trial. Already it has been floated that supposedly one or both weren't even at the party and that their absence is backed up with video evidence from an ATM among other whozits. This is obviously a tremendously stupid move if they were actually at the event since it'll be easy peasy to impeach their presence. We'll have to wait and see what happens I guess.

Since there was an arrest, the idictment has also been unsealed and released to the public. Woohoo. Makes you kinda wonder why they farging bothered to seal it at all only to arrest and unseal it within 10 hours. I guess it just heightened the suspense or something or maybe the prosecutor is just an ass.

For those who might be interested, you can find the complete indctment at findlaw and I'm in the process of going through it now. I wouldn't have posted this before having read through the whole thing but something on the first page made me stop and snicker.

'ravish and carnally know'?! WTH?! Is this a legal document or some sort of cheap romance novel set in victorian times? Anyway, I'll be back after I read the rest. I'm eager to see if there's any mention of a piss pot boy or ladies in waiting.

Well, that was the suckage. No information at all short of the fact that conviction on all counts means a 12-15 year sentence. Oh well. So much for getting to sneak a peak at what the prosecution's evidence and reasoning was. I guess it'll have to wait for the trial itself or more leaks from either side.
