I think my heart just grew three sizes

So I was feeling all pissy and stuffed and sleepy as I came home just now. It had been the lab potluck christmas party today and I finally tried to eat my gingerbread house and it was pretty God awful. (In case you're reading this Melissa, just ignore the previous line. It was wonderful and one of the most thoughtful gifts I've ever received.) Suffice to say I ate a few bites of it and everyone grabbed a gingerbread person and bit its head off and that was that. So I was coming home feeling all lethargic from going to the lab since 3am this morning to work and feeling all pissy too because glitter's being a bitch when I find a christmas cardy envelope in my mailbox from quartzie!

Oh Joy and Rapture. No one's sent me anything and frankly, I dunno how she even got my address. I opened it up, noting the funny 'canada post' stamp on the evenlope. I think this is the first time I've ever received anything from canada before. I opened up the card and saw something wrapped in tissue paper and my first thought was, crap, she probaly sent me anthrax or something. So I gingerly opened up the wrapping, trying to keep the mysterious white powder I suspected was inside from spilling everywhere when I found THIS:

I was so touched that I think my heart grew 3 sizes. It may also have had something to do with the relief that no anthrax was found. I'm feeling chipper and my faith in the world has been momentarily restored. I think all of you should live it up and revel in what will probaly only last 5-10 minutes or so. Still, it was a wonderful gift and I'm touched that you thought of me, Jenn.
