Police have found $206 million in cash tied to drug smugglers who imported chemicals used to make methamphetamines. The money was piled inside a mansion in a wealthy Mexico City neighborhood.
When I grow up, I want to be a freaking drug smuggler. I don't think I've ever seen so much money in one place outside of some discovery channel documentary on the US mint.
Mexican officials said the cash seized was mostly in U.S. $100 bills and weighed at least 4,500 pounds.
That's a terrifying sort of idea if you think about it. A pile of paper money that weighs more than your car. If you were able to go in with a duffel bag and haul out 50 pounds, it would be 2 million bucks and change. If you seized the whole stash, you'd be able to buy 412,000 limited collector editions of the ginormous Millenium Falcon. Just what everyone wants.
