I stayed in one of these in chicago a couple years ago and it wasn't exactly a place to write home about. Actually, that not true as long as home is where you work writing for a crime blotter. There always seem to be a lot of shady people at these extended stay locations. Not to mention it's always kinda weird to be at a hotel where you actually have to pay extra (I shit you not) in order for people to come in and clean/tidy up the room more than once a week. There were also some fairly draconian and puzzling rules about towel usage from what I recall. Anyway, it's nice that it has a little kitchen area, though I almost certainly won't be using it. You never know when there will be some sort of cookery emergency that requires a stove or a good sized frige.
Still, you can't beat the price. I pricelined the place for a total of $35.80 after all the taxes and fees and whatnot. Getting a hotel, any hotel, for under $50 a night is pretty damn good. Hotel rooms haven't cost $50 since I was a kid. It's around 8 miles out from downtown which means cabbing it will cost me $15 before tip each way. Feh.
