I's back, bitches. It looks like it's going to end up costing me around $200, but I'm back and running again. $30 for a useless spyware hunter program that didn't fix the problem and $150 for tech support from Verizon which cleared everything up. On top of that, it turns out that the network adaptor is dead, or dying rather, and I'll have to replace that at some point. I can't imagine it'll be much more expensive given how much I payed out already. I just spent around 4 hours online with the tech support guy getting everything fixed and I really just want to go take a shower and go to bed. I'll be back online for good as soon as I buy a new adaptor and haul the computer back upstairs. Right now it's connected via an ethernet hardline downstairs.
