Where's my damn crowbar?

Well, it's Valentine's day. Whoop-de-doo. I just saw something on the news which claimed that the average person spent $120 today on a gift for their significant other. That's quite a chunk of change if you think about it, averaging in those who spent zilch for one reason or another. It also unveiled the unsurprising fact that men end up spending more than twice what women do. Tsk, tsk. So much for gender equality I guess. Maybe we should do what they do in Japan and actually split Valentine's day into two different holidays. There, they have Valentine's Day and White Day. During the former, women receive gifts and chocolates and men get them during the latter. That way, everyone gets their own in which to wallow in materialistic bliss. Hmmm, I wonder if we would also need to come up with a day for hermaprhodrites or if those selfish bastards just get to double dip.

Oh, this is sort of obnoxious, but remember that Valentinr whozit? I can't get mine to open believe it or not. It's not accepting any of my logins or passwords and claims no account exists when I try to get the password recovered. It's not a big deal or anything, but still a point of irritation. There were only four messages in the damn thing, but now I'll never know how much of it was hate mail.
