The really disapointing part of all of this is that the prize support from Smirk and Dagger never arrived. I had sent emails to Curt about it early on and he seemed enthusiastic about the idea and providing some sort of prizes. I emailed him recently to let him know how the training day went and things were still all spiffy. I then asked about what he would be sending for support and I haven't heard from him since. I ended up having to use a few of my own games as prizes, including a sealed copy of Run for your life Candyman I had picked up last year at a con. Luckily, I also had some of the promo items I could give away from the game that I snagged at the same time. I didn't have any other Smirk and Dagger games to give as prizes for 2nd and 3rd so I ended up just rumaging through the game closet and looking for whatever was still sealed in plastic. What I came up with was Relationship Tightrope and Fishing for Terrorists. Ya, I know, but you make do with what you've got. I told the people that Curt might still come through in the end and there could be additional items if prize support actually arrives. Heck, if nothing else, I wouldn't mind getting my copy of Candyman back.
After the tournament ended, I rocketed out of the meetup like a bat out of hell along with Lori and some others. It had been a long day and everyone else had already gathered at the Panera for the regular game day. It was nice just to sit around, chat, and unwind.
