Henry! Fight-o!

I think I've just about decided to go and fight the ticket, pleading not guilty and going to court over the whole parking mess. Why the hell not? I mean, it's not as if my time is valuable and all the pain, discomfort, and irritation I experience will no doubt just hone my misanthropy. That's probably about as close as it gets to a win-win.

I'm more than a little motivated by the fact that I've ran some google searches and it seems that in a lot of jurisdictions, if you get the ticket dismissed you can sometimes get your towing fee refunded too. I would really really like to get that $120 back. Not to mention I would rather not have to pay the additional parking ticket either. The downside, other than the other listed aggravations, is that if I'm still found guilty I'll probably have to end up not only paying the ticket but additional court costs as well. I searched around but couldn't find anything about how much that would be in Elizabeth. Other jurisdictions around the country seem to have the amount pegged at anywhere between $25 and $100.

In the end, I guess it's just all a gamble. It's like being asked to go double or nothing. The fact that I think I'm in the right doesn't even enter into the equation here. I have no real clue what the law will say about things. Things would be a lot easier if the city's website wasn't complete useless crap. I can't find any of the information I need on there yet I'm repeatedly informed that the fucking Teen Anime Club is meeting on Thursday.

Feh.
