I've come to the realization just now that I miss Britney Spears. Not the crazy whitetrash Britney of today, mind you. I miss the old Britney back before she lost her god damn mind and was cute with all the pop'y sort of songs. One of my many weaknesses is that for some inexplicable reason, I love pop'y, bubbly songs. You know what I'm talking about. Those horrible ear worms that sound like they should be sung by a choir full of 8 year olds. I did once bash my head against a stone fireplace mantle when I was a kid and that might explain where some of this comes from. All I know now is it's beyond my control.

Anyway, back to Britney for a sec. I was browsing around on youtube and ran across one of my favorite madtv parodies of all time.

Isn't it great? I find I can't get the song out of my head for hours after hearing it. I also just find the entire thing hilarious.

Another song that always gets stuck in my head when I hear it is Avril Lavigne's Girlfriend. It reminds me of Hey Mickey and I just love the bouncy catchy nature of it. I guess I shouldn't be surprised but it looks like MadTV did a parody of that song too.

I still remember how I used to wander around singing kid songs to myself. I wonder if that's where all of this started. I used to play the Little Mermaid soundtrack in my car when I was in highschool. My friends soon found that it was almost impossible to act cool in a car when the driver is pumping Kiss the Girl and singing along with it. Sometimes I think it's a wonder that my testicles ever descended.

You know, I've seen very very few music videos in my life. I don't think I've ever spent more than 5 minutes iun a row watching mtv or vh1 and I doubt more than a few hours in my entire lifetime. I was just never interested in videos. If the music was spiffy, that was good enough.
