I'm also a bit ambivalent about the entire idea for other reasons. I've mentioned more than a few times on here that I don't usually go out to movies very often. In fact, I probably average only 1-2 films a year. The main cause is the medical issues. It makes sitting a literal pain in the ass, and it exacerbates a lot of other problems. The only way to even attempt to counteract that is to pop pills like a crackhead. That ends up leading to side-effects like nausea even if I'm lucky enough that it keeps the pain in check. I still remember when the Bills and some other people and I went to see Hot Fuzz in the theater and I had to leave in the middle in order to puke outside.
So, given all of that, why would I even think about subjecting myself to a movie marathon? Well, I don't get around much and it would be nice to go out and do something. That and the oxycontin has provided better pain management then I had been getting with the patch or any other of the previous options. I'm hoping that I can keep things in check and if all else fails, I might still catch a couple of the films before having to ditch.
A couple people have expressed interest in the venture, but the less prep time I have, the more likely people will bail out. I just hope that AMC gets its act together and I can figure out if this trip is even a possibility.
