Rip Van Winkle

I spent most of the day sleeping despite my initial plans to pop over to the Panera game day. I didn't end up getting to bed until the early morning and though I got up a few hours later, ended up dozing off again. About the only useful thing I did today was to start prepping for the True Realm trip on Tuesday. It was time to haul out the old suitcase and play another game of packing Tetris.

Oh, I got a package from Curt of Smirk and Dagger a few days ago. He very kindly decided to send me a copy of the new Cutthroat Caverns expansions. They're fresh off the presses and probably haven't even hit the stores yet. It was incredibly generous of him and I really need to drop him an email to let him know I received it and to thank him again. I'm thinking of bringing the games with me to True Realm where I can run an event or two with them. It's only fair that I try to promote the game and company as much as I can given how great he's been.

Speaking of games, I got around to uploading a video from Dreamation a couple days ago. It was basically my first look at Munchkin Quest, a boardgame version of Munchkin. It looked pretty spiffy to tell you the truth and I feel a bit conflicted. I made a promise to myself a couple of years ago that I would never, ever, ever give any more money to Steve Jackson and his shlocky games. I was just so disgusted with the low value for the money. Every single time I bought another expansion of Munchkin I had this image of a naked Steve Jackson rolling around on a bed made of my money. It was horrible.

For those of you who don't know Steve Jackson, here he is:

Feel my pain.

That being said though, the new board game did look sorta spiffy. Here's the video.

We have the game, and will bring it to GenCon, just in case you haven't had the chance to try it out before then. I definitely liked it better than the card game.
